Twin Peaks To Debut In The First Half Of 2017

The Wrap reports that the Twin Peaks revival will likely premiere in the first half of 2017.

The word came from Showtime president David Nevins during his appearance at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, who said director and co-creator David Lynch is halfway though shooting the project. Lynch is directing the entire project himself from scripts by Lynch and co-creatorMark Frost.

While original star Kyle MacLachlan is the only confirmed actor announced for the new series, other castmembers, including Sherylin Fenn and Sheryl Lee are said to be returning. Actors like Amanda Seyfreid, Laura Dern and Robert Forster are also reportedly joining the series.

It is presumed the show will pick up twenty-five year or so after MacLachlan’s Agent Dale Cooper entered the Black Lodge and faced the evil haunting the old woods surrounding the town of Twin Peaks. In the series’ second season finale, Cooper was possessed by Bob, one of the denizens of the Black Lodge, in a cliffhanger yet to be resolved. Via
